Charity

I chose Mooseheart Child City and School because it was a cause my late father supported fiercly in his later years. Founded by the Moose fraternal organization in the 1920's, it was originally intended as a home for the orphaned children of departed Moose brothers who lost their lives in WWI. Since then, it has become a home for virtually any child without stable parents to raise him or her. Located 40 mi. from Chicago, it has been home to thousands of kids since it's inception, teaching them not only wholesome values, but also a trade. The goal of this event is to raise enough money to buy the High School at Moosehead a full set of scientific calculators. With your help, we can make this happen.

How it works:

For a measly $20, each participant may cut off ONE of my dreadlocks. There will be 60 to cut, so the opportunity is first come, first served. Participants must agree to the rules of ettiquite, and may lose their turn if they are inebriated. Cutting begins at 8pm sharp, and hopefully will be finished by 11pm. At this time, any remaining dreads will be cut for absentee donors (see here for details), and Anngelle Wood will give me my final cut and color.

ALL proceeds from the raffle and the cutting, as well as any remaining door proceeds (all the bands are doing this for free!) will go directly to the kids at Mooseheart.
